Barcelona v Manchester : What were the odds?!?!

Sorry it took such a long time for me to write up another blog. But I am certainly glad for this extra time since I had a chance to view the spectacular final between Barcelona and Manchester.
I was sitting at 12:00 am at a ground with friends surrounding me, all cheering for Manchester, with myself hooting for Barcelona (kept things interesting between us friends) and after the first goal, it was quite apparent to me that Manchester had given up the game. The body language stated that they had no passion, or dedication towards equaling the match, let alone winning it.
In my opinion, Barcelona totally dominated the game without breaking a sweat. No one could even catch Messi. He was in a totally different zone altogether.

So I am extremely sorry for all the fans who were hoping that Manchester was going to win, but you have to face the facts. Your team just did not want to win.

What Kind of Car is Best For Pakistan??

I am basically writing to find out about your opinion on which car is the best car for Pakistan in terms of

1) Driving
2) Racing
3) Safety
4) Cost efficient
5) Luxury

Please feel free to contribute with your highlights on your favorite car/cars.

My all time favorite was the Honda Civic 1995 (Cat Eyes) in silver. It was the first car that actually implemented the vtec technology of Honda and showcased a push button air-conditioning panel!!! It was the perfect car for a trip to the grocery and then a quick race back home. And best of all, it was the most easy modifiable car in Pakistan.

Now my favorite is Vitz 2005. Driving a pleasure, racing very responsive, dual airbags, 12 km/liter with A.C, and fully automatic.

Awaiting your comments!!!

Tennis War - F vs N

Nothing brings out the tennis freaks and fans like Roger Federer v. Rafael Nadal battles. And rightfully so.
Now after Federer’s remarkable win over Rafa in Madrid, the tennis world remains abuzz with talk of the Resurrection of Roger, the end of Nadal and everything in between. Hyperbole aside, at least people are talking about tennis again.

A few things to put the result into perspective…

First, Fed’s win really doesn’t change much for me going into the French Open. Nadal is still the heavy, heavy favorite. If you are a Rafa fan, there’s no need to panic. Not right now.

And if you want to make the case that the clay and playing conditions in Madrid are nothing like those in Paris, I’ll buy that. And the players seem to agree with that, especially Rafa who didn’t sound pleased with the event as a whole.

But regardless, what the win does do is give Federer hope. False hope? Maybe. But hope where arguably there was none against Nadal, especially on clay. Federer had dropped five straight to Rafa, many in absolute devastating fashion and one a complete destruction job in his last clay meeting with the Spaniard, that of course the 2008 French Open final.

So this victory will help Federer vanquish some of those demons and it will get his head straight and boost his confidence which has to be in orbit today. I say time and time again, tennis is such a mental sport and right now mentally Federer has to be feeling the best he’s felt since last September.

No doubt, we’ve all seen Rafa play better than what we saw from him when he looked sluggish, error-prone and listless.

What I do know is that Federer came out with a gameplan and executed it to perfection. He knocked Rafa right in the teeth from the get go by playing aggressive on his forehands, flying around his backhand, going for returns and even mixing in some netplay with timely dropshots and volleys. And Federer’s tactics got Rafa on his heals right away and out of his comfort zone. There’s no denying, the strategy worked.

Question becomes, can he do it again in about three weeks in a best-of-five on a slower, heavier clay surface and win again? It’s a longshot that remains to be seen.

Joking Around

A little girl and her mother were out and about.
Out of the blue, the girl asked her mother, "Mommy, How old are you?"
The mother responded, "Honey, women don't talk about their age. You'll learn this as you get older."
The girl then asked, "Mommy, how much do you weigh?"
Her mother responded again, "That's another thing women don't talk about. You'll learn this, too, as you grow up."
The girl, still wanting to know about her mother, then fired off another question, "Mommy, why did you and Daddy get a divorce?"
The mother, a little annoyed by the questions, responded, "Honey, that is a subject that hurts me very much, and I don't want to talk about it now."
The little girl, frustrated, sulked until she was dropped off at a friend's house to play. She consulted with her girlfriend about her and her mother's conversation.
The girlfriend said, "All you have to do is sneak a look at your mother's driver's license. It's just a like a report card from school. It tells you everything."
Later, the little girl and her mother were out and about again.
The little girl started off with, "Mommy, Mommy, I know how old you are. I know how old you are. You're 32 years old."
The mother was very shocked. She asked, "Sweetheart, how do you know that?"
The little girl shrugged and said, "I just know. And I know how much you weigh. You weigh 130 pounds."
"Where did you learn that?"
The little girl said, "I just know. And I know why you and Daddy got a divorce. You got an 'F' in sex."

Contribute your jokes....lets make this a library!

Media Media Media

The media industry in Pakistan has been growing like a wildfire. Every new channel is trying to push limits by showing exaggerated news, risque dramas and slapstick comedy. Indian dramas and sitcoms have penetrated through the airwaves and are now being aired on local channels. When is it going to be enough? Do you think this is the right path? Should this continue or should our media bodies do something about it? Are the media bodies doing anything at all?

Star Trek 2009

So ladies and gents, Star Trek is out !! And I just watched it....

For those who dont know as yet :

Star Trek is a 2009 science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It is the eleventh film based on the Star Trek franchise and features the main characters of the original Star Trek television series, who are portrayed by a new cast. The film follows James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto), before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to combat Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future who threatens the United Federation of Planets.

Who has watched it? What did you think? Love to hear your comments!!!

Swat

Talibanization, is it good or is it bad? The entire term is being coined as a means of extremism and torture in the name of Islam. This is what really gets me down. Our generation lives by the rule of 'live, and let live' and 'to each its own'. Why do we need some weird people from the mountains coming and explaining, rather forcing us to understand their philosophy.
We need to fight this terror, fight for our way of life...and fight for Pakistan.
